An Open Letter to Ms. Meg Thomas, Executive Director, Montessori School of Raleigh, North Carolina, U.S.

Thank you so much for allowing Kalpu to come to Alpha Montessori School. She was a God-sent gift to the children, teachers and the administrative staff. Her warmth, patience, compassion, and love were wonderful for the school. The shy, withdrawn, and untrained teachers felt at ease in her presence. They opened up to her and could communicate with her in their native language, about the difficulties in their jobs, service to the children, and desire to be good teachers.

She showed them how to inspire each child to keep him or her engaged in the meaningful work, and how to inspire a whole classroom of children. Her training sessions included many subjects: child development, classroom management, conflict resolution, observation, and presentation of the material. The sessions were warm, intimate, and informative. She encouraged teachers to speak in English with children, at whatever level they could speak English. Her love and passion for the Montessori work was apparent.

Thank you so much for your generosity and your contribution to the school. The children, their families, and teachers will never be the same. This training of teachers will alter this community for generations to come. Thank you for making this work possible in their world. We appreciate your partnership, and we hope this relationship will be long-lasting.

Best Wishes and Regards,

Amita Bardwick, Founder,
